Academic infractions uncovered at North Carolina

The University of North Carolina will hold a press conference Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. EST after the institution uncovered academic infractions within its football program. According to a report, the school self-reported the findings to the cheap nfl jerseys NCAA. The university uncovered the academic issues, pertaining to a tutor, in its own review and subsequently relegated the football players involved to the scout team at practice on Wednesday. According to Joe Schad of ESPN.com, at least nine players — including defensive tackle Marvin Austin, defensive end Robert Quinn and linebacker Bruce Carter — were demoted at practice.
The ESPN report stated that the academic impropriety involved a former tutor writing papers for players. The tutor in question reportedly was a nanny for head coach Butch Davis' family.
In attendance at the presser will be chancellor Holden Thorp and athletic director Dick Baddour. The school had canceled the media viewing portion of Thursday afternoon's practice session, as well as a scheduled interview session with Davis.
These self-reported academic findings just add a new element to the ongoing NCAA probe of Chargers jersey UNC and other schools involving the relationships between players and agents.
It's highly unlikely that any suspensions would be announced at the news conference tonight, as the NCAA will want to perform a more extensive investigation on the academic side of things as they have been doing with the probe into the agents. But the future certainly does not look bright for Davis and the Heels as they prepare for their season-opener against LSU in Atlanta.
